| Message/Mission statement: Berkshire Maestros - Mission Statement “To develop a high quality, comprehensive music education organisation dedicated to providing an unrivalled breadth of choice and range of facilities to schools and the widest possible group of young people”. Aims & Values The Educational Services • Berkshire Maestros is above all an educational institution. It exists to educate at all levels, regardless of background and ability. • We seek to create opportunities for all young people to experience music and music making, and to realise any potential to participate, including in those who might not consider themselves to be musically motivated. • We aim to be accessible to all pupils who wish to undertake instrumental or vocal tuition, regardless of ability to pay. • We offer a wide range of musical settings and styles, and encourage pupils to be creative in their music making The way we deliver • We aim to achieve the highest quality in our teaching by employing the best teachers available, and by striving to provide the best facilities and environment in which to encourage learning • We are committed to economy in our operations, conscious that what we deliver has to be paid for by others. Building effective relationships • We want our pupil’s parents to feel involved with their musical development, and to be aware of the opportunities we offer and the commitments we expect. • We rely on the active support of the Unitary Authorities and schools in Berkshire, and we wish to work in active partnership with them. |
| Description: Berkshire Maestros is an independent music organisation providing instrumental and vocal teaching in schools and music centres throughout Berkshire. Berkshire Maestros provided inspirational and rewarding music experiences to children in over ninety per cent of LEA schools in Bracknell Forest, Reading, West Berkshire, Windsor & Maidenhead and Wokingham. Berkshire Maestros is a Registered Charitable Company limited by guarantee and incorporated as a company registered under the name Berkshire Young Musician’s Trust. In 25th August 1982 the Trust was established under a Memorandum of Association which established the objects and powers of the charitable company and is governed under its Articles of Association. The Trust operates predominately within the County of Berkshire under contract with each of the five unitary authorities to provide music services. |
