A small, UK-based grass-roots charity operating in Mongolia. It provides the less fortunate of nomadic herding communities with 3 types of aid, helping families, especially the younger generation, to continue as herders in a country that his little else to offer them as alternative employment.
Our aid is the provision of grass-cutting equipment to boost essential hay harvests where winters can be long and harsh.
We re-furbish wells in the Gobi fringes avoiding the need for herds to travel great distances in search of a water supply.
We arrange (with funding by WSPA) for some 45,000 horses to be inoculated against parasitic diseases twice each year.
These grass-roots measures give herders animals, especially their essential horses, a better chance of surviving Mongolia's extremes of climate, set against a struggling economy.
